The overall objective of the NanoMonitor project is to improve the use of environmental monitoring data to support the implementation of the REACH regulation and to promote the protection of human health and the environment when dealing with engineered nanomaterials .
The project has three key objectives:
- to develop stand operating procedures to collect and analyse ENMs in complex industrial, urban und natural environments
- to develop of an on-line information system consisting of two integrating elements; a software application to capture, store, exchange and manage the data on the concentration of engineered nanomaterials, and a new low cost monitoring station prototype to support the the outdoor and indoor monitoring of airborne nano-pollutants.
- Support the monitoring of REACH compliance and its impact on risk mitigation and prevention
Project results will be disseminated to a large community of SMEs, stakeholders and competent authorities at a regional, national and EU level. A structured compendium of free webinars, workshops and training will support the use of the NanoMonitor information and monitoring system for end-users and stakeholders.
